M. Scott Miller, CPA | Managing Partner
Scott received a bachelor’s of science degree in Accounting with a minor in information systems from Lipscomb University in December of 1997.
Scott has been providing business assurance services for clients for over 20 years across a wide range of industries. Scott began his career with a Big 4 firm learning how to provide a high level of service with a focus on client service, timeliness and accuracy. Through Scott’s career he has worked with small to regional firms. Scott has been able to work with clients in 20 different states and continues to grow the practice to not just service Middle Tennessee but throughout the United States. Scott has been able to develop an audit approach based on the best practices from these experiences. These best practices include unique, client-centered approach focused on truly understanding the businesses we are privileged to serve. With this understanding we are able to perform a highly effective yet efficient audit and business assurance process.
Scott has been married to Heather Miller, since August 1998 and 3 children, Josh, Michael and Kayla. Scott has lived in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for 8 years after living in White House, Tennessee and Grayson, Georgia.
Scott is a deacon with Walter Hill Church of Christ with a ministry focus on the Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes program and other children programs. The program is established to train our youth to become leaders in the Church, community and business.
Scott enjoys traveling with his family, hiking/back country camping and any other outdoor activity.
Scott is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and former member of the TSCPA Employee Benefit Plan Conference Committee.
Peggy Tompkins
Peggy received a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University (“MTSU”) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in December of 2021. Peggy also attended Kennesaw State before moving to Tennessee to attend MTSU.
Peggy joined our firm in August 2020 as an intern gaining valuable experience before being promoted to a business assurance associate in January 2022.
Peggy has been able to gain a wide variety of experience in his accounting experience under the direction and guidance of M. Scott Miller, CPA. Peggy has worked through complex accounting and auditing issues involving construction contractors, rent-to-own businesses, not-for-profit companies, franchise companies and privately held businesses.
Peggy grew up near Savannah, Georgia and enjoys spending her time outdoors on the water (boating, sailing, etc.). Peggy prior to joining Miller CPA, PLLC provided sailing instruction in Georgia and Tennessee.
Lily Hendrickson
Lily received a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University (“MTSU”) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in December of 2020. Prior to joining Miller CPA, PLLC Lily interned with another CPA firm gaining valuable experience to service our assurance clients.
Lily joined our firm in January 2021 as a business assurance associate.

Lily grew up near Janesville, Wisconsin and enjoys spending her time outdoors and at the gym. Lily is also a member of the National Guard and spends time through military training each year.
Lesley Murphy
Lesley received a bachelor’s of science degree in finance from Middle Tennessee State University (“MTSU”) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in August 2015. Prior to joining Miller CPA, PLLC Lily worked for 5 years in an accounting department of a large commercial company in the Murfreesboro area. The experience with the commercial company adds significant value to our Corporate Accounting Department.
Lily joined our firm in July 2021 as an associate. Lesley focuses on Corporate Accounting and employee benefit plan audits throughout the year.
Lesley grew up near Murfreesboro and enjoys spending her time with family and working on vehicles.
